Last Sunday, we had our Christmas banquet after our church service. The kids in my Sunday School especially the girls were dressed up for the first time. I told them that we will have a picture taking during that day. They girls were pretty and some were wearing their sandals. I could tell they were so excited. The boys sang special song during the worship service followed by the girls. Then we listened to the message given by Pastor George. It’s all about Christmas of course. After the service we had our lunch inside the church. The tables and chairs were arranged to accommodate the pots of rice and different foods. I cooked chicken adobo and white beans. One of my uncles cooked pinakbet as I requested. It was so good. There was ginataang gabi, monggo, ginisang upo, lumpia, dinengdeng, etc. The kids were served first and then the adults. They like my chicken adobo. It was all gone. I was so full that day. I gained weight this holiday season. I hope to lose it soon.

We had parlor games after lunch. But before that, I asked the kids to recite all the verses that I asked them to memorize since we started Sunday School. There were three who were able to memorize but the first prize went to the 7 year old girl named Melissa. She has s fantastic memory. I gave the 2nd prize to a 9 year old girl and the 3rd prize went to an 11 year old boy. Then we started the parlor games. The kids and the adults participated. I gave out prizes to the winners and I distributed chocolates and candies to all. The kids and adults had a blast that day. We went home exhausted but I enjoyed it.

We had the song and preach fest this afternoon in our church. We do this every 5th Sunday of the month. The last time we had it was last April. Hubby didn’t preach that time because he wasn’t prepared. This time he signed up and he prepared his message. He was the first one to go up the pulpit and preach. It was supposed to be a 5 minute message for each preacher but my hubby had preach longer than that. Imagine, he prepared a 3 page message and he just shortened it to 1 page but still he didn’t make it for 5 minutes. He preached maybe around 10-15 minutes. Oh well, it’s good he was the first one who preached. His message was entitled "Savior’s Light House" and his text verse is found in Matthew 5:14-16.

There were 6 preachers in our church who preached tonight and all the messages were good and it blessed my heart. In between the preaching was the singing. It was a good night and I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in our church tonight. There was one mother who came in for the first time and she went to the altar and prayed. I’m sure she was moved with the messages and the songs. After the program, we all went to the dining hall and eat. We had lots of foods and desserts. It was really a good night, a night intended to praise and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It’s been almost two weeks since we had the Creation Seminar in our church. Our speaker Dr. Patrick Briney talked about creation insights, evolution, science, species and a lot more. Though some of the subjects he talked about I can hardly comprehend, one thing is for sure, that man was created by God and didn’t come from apes. It’s a great day today and hubby and I went to church to worship the Lord. We had a good service and our Pastor had preached a very powerful message despite having problem in his voice. It’s about being holy because we have a holy God. Without holiness no one can see the Lord. He also preached about sin, that we should acknowledge our sinfulness and repent and turn away from our sins. I’m always inspired listening to our pastor’s messages.

After the service, hubby and I went to eat lunch at Buffet City. It’s my treat for him again. I didn’t bring my digicam though because we didn’t plan to go in the restaurant in the first place. it’s one of those spur of the moment decisions. Hubby was delighted though that I didn’t have my camera with me. He said we can eat peacefully without being bothered by taking pictures, he-he-he! So we had our good lunch at Buffet City. I ate a lot of their salmon, chicken with broccoli, beef with broccoli, vegetables with shrimps and crab legs imitation. My dessert were fruits like orange, pineapple, peaches and lemon. Hubby ate to his heart’s delight. He loves to eat and the evidence is seen in his belly. When we got home, I got my camera and I asked hubby to take photos of me since I didn’t have any photos in the restaurant. So here they are.

Our revival in our church started last Sunday. Our guest speaker Bro. Dave McCracken is a very good evangelist. Last Sunday morning, he preached about repentance. He said that you can’t be saved without repentance from your sins. He also said that repentance and faith are like siamese twins. You repent from your sins because you believe that God will save you if you do. Bro. Dave knows how to catch the audience attention. He told stories that relates to the verses that he read. He also crack jokes that made us laugh. Tonight he will preach again. Our revival will last until Wednesday. It’s our prayer that after the revival, all of us will be revived and our faith will be strengthen.

We had a good Christmas banquet in our church tonight. Lots and lots of foods were brought in by the church members. There were ham, turkey, green bean casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and a lot more that I can’t remeber. Of course there were lots of desserts, different kinds of cakes, cookies, pies, etc. I brought lumpia and as expected they were all gone not too long. The dining hall was well decorated with garlands, Christmas lights, Christmas ornaments and Christmas trees. After eating, Bro. Hugh had preached a good message. We had such a good time tonight in the church. By the way, our Pastor and his wife arrived yesterday from a week vacation. It’s good they’re back safely and we missed them.

We had such a good time yesterday at the church. We had visitors from Oklahoma City, the HBC Quartet. Those young men are students of Heartland Baptist College and they sang christian songs during our Sunday School and worship service. They performed and sang praise songs unto God and we really enjoyed listening to them tremendously. During the main service, one of them preached the Word of God. I was really blessed with the message and during the invitation time I went infront and prayed. The quartet had also CDs for sale which they recorded and I bought one. In fact I am playing it right now while I’m here typing. We really had a good time in the church yesterday. I took a photo but since I was not that close, it’s a little bit blurred.

We had the Ladies’ Fellowship in the church tonight. One of the ladies hosted it and she brought cookies and drinks. Another lady brought cheese cake that she made. The wife of our Pastor gave the devotions and after that we wrote letters to the missionaries that are being sponsored by our church. We had such a good time. We do the Ladies’ Fellowship every month and next month it will be hosted by our pastor’s wife, Ms. Marsha Turner and we will be having a Christmas party.

Our missions conference that we had for 5 days in our church was a great success. I really felt the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The theme was Rekindle The Flame. Our hearts were really rekindled and we were on fire in serving the Lord. Our guest speaker Bro. Wayne Hudson was really good and he preached tremendously. I like listening to him. The missionaries to different countries shared their testimonies of how the good Lord has worked with them in their mission fields. God made the things impossible possible for them to bring the gospel to the unsaved people. God made a way when there seems to be no way.

During the last day of the missions conference, we wrote our faith promise for missions. George and I promised an amount that we don’t know where to get it trusting God to supply the money so we can give it for the cause of Christ. That’s faith, trusting God of the things we can’t see. My hubby and I live by faith and not by sight. Our pastor Bro. Jim Turner was so emotional when he announced to the congregation the total amount of faith promise of the church members for missions. It was a whooping a little less than $80,000 for the coming year. We exceeded his goal and he was shedding tears of joy. The Lord has truly rekindled the flame in each and everybody’s hearts to serve Him with passion. He wants His work done before the second coming of His Son Jesus Christ to spread the gospel to the lost souls. He wants us to do His great commission.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20

Our church had started the Mission’s Conference yesterday night and it will be until Sunday. There were missionaries to different countries who came and attended. I met a Filipino couple who are missionaries in the Philippines. They are from Pampanga and I’m so happy to meet them. We also met the missionaries to Mexico and Colombia. They also showed some video clips of their mission fields. There are really a lot of souls to be saved and it’s good that there are people like those missionaries who are willing to go and witness to the people and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. People are getting saved because of these servants of God who have burdens in their heart for the lost souls.

We had a blast last night at the church during the banquet. There were lots of good foods and it was catered. The fellowship hall was decorated with hawaiian motiff. Hubby and I enjoyed the foods and the fellowship. They served beef barbecue, sausage, coles law, potato salad, ham, beans, dinner rolls, pickles, ice cream and a lot of more which I can’t remember. I didn’t really eat that much, I got full easily. My hubby went to get 2nd serving. After eating, there was a program. Some of the church workers gave their testimonies. Some rendered special songs. There was also a skit that really made us laughed. Pastor Turner gave a message to wrap up the night’s event. The program was hosted by Bro. Allen and Bro. Hugh. We had such a good time last night. I thought of sharing some of our photos taken at the banquet.

We had a songfest and preachfest yesterday in our church. We do it every 5th Sunday of the month. We listened to songs rendered by the participants and messages delivered by the preachers. There were 5 preachers who participated and that includes my hubby George. He was the 3rd one who preached. All the songs and preaching were such a blessing and I really felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in our church yesterday. For the last 2 months, our church faced a crisis since Bro. Bill retired as our pastor. We’ve been praying for God’s will to send us a pastor that He wants us to have. God has answered our prayers and He sent us a new pastor in the person of Bro. Jim Turner. He is a good preacher and his messages greatly blesses me. He and his wife Ms. Marsha officially joined our church yesterday and we’re thankful to God for that. We are looking forward to serving God with him for many years to come.

Pastor Bill Jackson decided to retire after 60 years of ministry. His last day was last Sunday. He and his wife Ms. Joyce will be moving to Hot Spring, Arkansas. He said that it doesn’t mean that he gonna retire from serving the Lord. He just won’t be pastoring a church no more but he will teach in a Bible School in Arkansas. Members of our church got sad and some were crying because we gonna miss them. They are a good, very warm and loving couple. After our evening service last Sunday, we had a farewell party for them, we had foods and the church gave them some gifts to show our love and appreciation to Bro. Bill for being a pastor in our church for almost 14 years and also to his wife. I hugged Ms. Joyce and she was crying. I told her we surely gonna miss both of them. Ms. Joyce is our pianist in the church and she’s a very sweet and Godly woman. Everytime I give something to her like eggrolls or native cakes she always send me a thank you card. We gonna miss both of them. The church members had been praying to God to send us a pastor He would like us to have, a pastor who will be a good leader and one who will preach the Word to win more souls for Jesus.

Last Saturday was the 60th Anniversary of our Pastor Bill Jackson in his ministry as a preacher. He started to preach at the age of 17 and until now he’s still preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and winning souls for Jesus. He served the Lord that long, and he and his devoted wife Ms. Joyce are still faithfully serving the Lord. The celebration was from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There were lots of people who came, members from our church, friends and kins of the pastor who came all the way from other state. The fellowship hall was really crowded and most of all there were lots of foods. All the church members brought foods and there were lots of leftovers that they had frozen for the coming Songfest on Sunday afternoon. The church members and the friends of Pastor Bill showed their love and appreciation for all the things he has done by giving him gifts and greeting cards. Also there was a video made especially for him for his 60 years of ministry. It was really a good celebration and fellowship at the same time.
