Panagbenga 2008

My li’l sister Violy e-mailed me a lot of their photos yesterday. I was just so fascinated looking at their photos taken during the Panagbenga (Flower Festival) in Baguio City. I used to attend that event every year when I was still in the Philippines. Hubby haven’t seen it yet and maybe next year, God’s willing we will be there. During the Panagbenga, aside from the street dancing and floats competition, they have also the landscaping contest. People there are so creative and artistic and the landscapes will really capture your eyes if you’re a nature lover. Here are the photos:

Hubby’s New Haircut

Yesterday, I found time to give my hubby a haircut. Since I’ve been here in the US, I was the one cutting his hair. You might think I’m a hair stylist or what, but no. I never cut a man’s hair before. When I got here in the US, I used to convert the value of the dollar to peso. I told him everything here is expensive when converted to peso. So in order to save money, I volunteered to cut his hair. I was teasing him that he will just give to me the money that he’s supposed to pay to the barber. True indeed, he gave me maybe twice or thrice but now I don’t charge him no more, he-he-he. Not only I’m his barber but I’m also the one cutting his nails. I’ve been doing it since we got married. He never asked me to do it but I volunteered. I’m also his massager. Every time his muscles are sore or tight, I give him the needed massage. Yesterday, after I cut his hair, I cut his fingernails and toenails. Then I gave him a massage in his shoulders because he complained that it’s sore. I have to take care of my hubby because I love him and it’s my duty as a wife to tend to his needs. I like his haircut now. I cut his hair shorter this time. Here’s his new haircut.

Chat Using Skype

I chatted with my sister and my brother in-law the other day using Skype. I think this is better than Yahoo IM. We used our webcams and microphones to see and talk to each other. The sound was so clear and I had a good time talking with my sister and her hubby. They said it’s like they were talking to me face to face. They even took a snapshot of me in their webcam. I took their photo too using my webcam. I was really so
happy talking and seeing them in the webcam. Next time, my whole family will be there because the other day, most of them were already sleeping. It was morning here and night time there. I recommend Skype if you want to chat and talk to your family abroad. Here’s the photo of my sister and her hubby that I took while talking to them online using
Skype.

Internet Connection Problem

I wasn’t able to blog yesterday because my DSL connection had been having problems. I can’t connect to the internet. I called the AT&T technical support and they run the test in their site. They were not able to resolve the problem so they told me that they gonna send a technician to find out what’s wrong. My hubby had been teasing me last night if I’m having some computer withdrawal symptoms because I was not able to use my computer. He’s crazy. This morning, the technician came early in the morning and he checked what’s wrong. The modem is alright so he went outside and checked the line connection. He found a couple of problems there and he fixed it. Now my internet is working and I’m back blogging.

KC Concepcion in MMK

I was able to watch KC Concepcion in Maalaala Mo Kaya yesterday. I've been waiting for it to be uploaded in the internet since Friday. I kept checking it in the internet, first in Youtube but it was not yet there, only the full trailer as of yesterday. As everybody knows, KC is the daughter of two famous celebrities in the Philippines. I like Sharon Cuneta and I used to watch her movies when I was in the Philippines. Now, her daughter KC finally entered the showbiz world. KC is a good actress in her first acting role in Maalaala Mo Kaya. She can really act and Sharon must be very proud of her daughter. May pinagmanahan, eh. If you want to watch KC in Maalaala Mo Kaya, just click the following links. Enjoy watching!

Filipino TV Shows

It’s been so cold and raining today. Hubby and I just stayed in the house and don’t wanna go anywhere in this kind of weather. I might watch some Filipino tv programs later today. Last night I’ve watched 2 shows of Maalaala Mo Kaya. I love the episode entitled Piso starring Piolo Pascual. He’s such a very good actor and he did justice to his role. I also enjoyed watching Jericho Rosales and Heart Evangelista. Jericho is a fine actor too.

Finally!!!

Seems like it’s been ages since I updated this blog. I seldom get opportunities for this blog that’s why my main focus is in My Online Journal blog because that’s where I get lots of opps. Then there are other blogs of mine too to update. It’s really time-consuming to have lots of blogs. But I’m having fun though.

I finally sent the papers for my citizenship last January 31. It took me a while to do it. One reason is the money. Then a friend of mine volunteered to loan me the money a few months ago but hubby and I were waiting to file after we sell the house so I will not have to change my address in the INS. No buyer of the house yet so I decided to file my application. I heard it will take 6 months to wait. Tonight, Wayne called from Iowa and he talked to his dad. After they talked, hubby told me that he’s supposed to send money so I can file my citizenship but hubby told him that I already sent the application together with the payment more than a week ago. I told hubby though that he should have told him that we’re still saving money so we can pay my friend who loaned us the money for my application fee. We really need the money right now that’s why I don’t understand my hubby why he didn’t tell it to his son. Hubby was bashful again or maybe it’s his ego. I really don’t know. Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend Americans.

I am still waiting for the IRS to send me the acknowledgment receipt of the forms and fee that I sent them. Not sure though if they will.

Free Tagalog Movies

I've found another website where I can watch a free Tagalog movie. Actually it's a blog and the owner uploaded those movies in his site. I just finished watching a movie in that site this afternoon after I was done with all my paid blogging. I finished early with my blogging today and so far I was able to grab the higher paying opps. I surpassed my goal and I made a total of $42.50 today. Thank God. Okay back to the movie that I watched. It's a Tagalog movie and the title is "Paano Kita Iibigin" starring Regine Velasques and Piolo Pascual. It's a drama, love story movie. I was even teary-eyed while watching it. Yakss... Sad movies make me cry, (madrama si lola). If you want to watch it, just click HERE but first you have to download certain programs before you can watch it. It's free and I enjoyed watching it. I'll go back there again and watch another Tagalog movie one of these days when I'm not busy.

Sunday Church Service

It’s a great day today and hubby and I went to church to worship the Lord. We had a good service and our Pastor had preached a very powerful message despite having problem in his voice. It’s about being holy because we have a holy God. Without holiness no one can see the Lord. He also preached about sin, that we should acknowledge our sinfulness and repent and turn away from our sins. I’m always inspired listening to our pastor’s messages.

After the service, hubby and I went to eat lunch at Buffet City. It’s my treat for him again. I didn’t bring my digicam though because we didn’t plan to go in the restaurant in the first place. it’s one of those spur of the moment decisions. Hubby was delighted though that I didn’t have my camera with me. He said we can eat peacefully without being bothered by taking pictures, he-he-he! So we had our good lunch at Buffet City. I ate a lot of their salmon, chicken with broccoli, beef with broccoli, vegetables with shrimps and crab legs imitation. My dessert were fruits like orange, pineapple, peaches and lemon. Hubby ate to his heart’s delight. He loves to eat and the evidence is seen in his belly. When we got home, I got my camera and I asked hubby to take photos of me since I didn’t have any photos in the restaurant. So here they are.

My Busy Weekend

I didn’t have time to blog this morning and afternoon because I’ve been busy with other things. I woke up late and then I cooked pancakes for our brunch. Yap, it was almost noon time when we ate our breakfast so I called it brunch. After that hubby and I had to run to Wal-Mart and bought a gift for the baby shower of one of our church members. Then we stopped by at Pecan Shed to sell some of the pecans that I picked up and also to have some of it cracked. It’s just across our church where the baby shower’s venue is.

The baby shower was well attended and the baby girl got lots of gifts, mostly clothes, baby blankets, diapers and gift cards. We ate biscuits with cheese ball, fruits, nuts and cakes. They served fruit punch for drinks. That served as my late lunch since I didn’t eat my lunch at home. Hubby came and picked me up and then I asked him to drive to Subway so I can buy him a sandwich. I got him a ham sandwich and tuna sandwich for me. That’s my treat for him from the money I made in selling the pecans. Then we drove home and here I am now blogging.

Massage Therapy

Yesterday afternoon, after hubby got home from work, he took me to my appointment with my massage therapist. It’s been a few months already since the last time I went there. I love being massaged, it relaxes me and it eases away my stress and muscle pain. Also it improves circulation in the body. I’ve been a customer of my massage therapist for almost 2 years now that’s why he gives me a discount. He charge a lot lower than all the massage therapist here in town. I am planning to have my massage therapy on a regular basis. Next time my hubby will also have a massage. I told him it’s really, really good.

Package From My Sister

I just got today the small package from my sister Violy in the Philippines. It took only 9 days to get here. She sent me a couple of bottles of Efficascent oil which I requested. My hubby and I used it to rub our muscles and it soothes muscle pain, stiffness and a lot more.

Violy also sent me some accessories like necklaces, bracelets and earrings. She knows that I love wearing them when I go to church and also I love giving some of it away to my friends in the church. There’s also a
video CD of my niece’s dedication to the Lord and letters from my 2 nephews thanking us for the package that we sent them last Christmas. Those 2 boys are so sweet. I’m so delighted to receive the package from my sister. I love all the stuffs that she sent me especially the red swarovski bracelet that she made especially for me. It's so pretty!
